In 2019, we saw a major shift in adoption of younger adult patients
1. Less Invasive Alternatives to Traditional Procedures
Sculptra Aesthetic, which saw 31 percent interest growth on RealSelf last year, is FDA-approved to treat facial wrinkles, but a growing number of providers are using the injectable for buttock augmentation. Booty lift anyone?
Jawline filler is increasing in popularity as jaw contour as jaw contour allows the face to appear more youthful and feminine. Adding filler to the chin completes this look adding a slimming effect to the entire face.
3. Masseter Botox
Botox relaxes the muscles, and teeth grinding is caused by the masseter muscle going into nocturnal overdrive. Weaken the masseter muscle and you alleviate most, if not all, of this tension. Getting Botox injected into this area also slims the face!
A minimally invasive procedure that relies on the body to do the work, microneedling stimulates the production of collagen, the substance in the skin that gives it its strength. The results include a more youthful appearance as collagen strengthens the skin, filling it out and helps to reduce the appearance of acne scarring, and discolorations of the skin. It also improves the overall tone and texture of the skin. Microneedling had strong growth in 2018, and this trend is only expected to continue into 2019.
5. Preventative Treatments
According to experts, in 2019 a large number of patients will start getting treatments at an earlier, younger age for prevention purposes. Younger patients are starting Botox, filler, microneeding and other skin care treatments earlier to prolong themselves for the more invasive surgeries they might need in the future.
