Give Your Booty a Boost

Collagenase clostridium histolyticum-aaes, otherwise known as QWO, is the first of its kind as an FDA-approved injectable cellulite treatment for the buttocks. Many deal with cellulite on their buttocks. Cellulite refers to the dimples and ripples in the skin caused by fibrous bands called septae. These bands take smooth, supple skin and make it a point of insecurity that’s challenging to fix.

It’s time for you to get a boost on your booty so you can love showing it off again. Face Forward Aesthetics is proud to offer QWO cellulite reduction treatment to anyone looking to reduce the appearance of cellulite on their buttocks. Even if you’ve tried other lotions and potions to rid your body of those pesky dimples, our treatment is different — it’s a safe and effective way to learn to re-love your body.

How It Works

The main material in septae is collagen, the building block for skin. QWO contains the antidote for collagen, an enzyme called collagenase. When QWO is injected in these areas, the fibrous bands start dissolving, releasing tethered skin so that it can return to its smooth state.

When you come in for an appointment at Face Forward Aesthetics, we’ll start with a free consultation with one of our Certified Aesthetic Nurse Practitioners where we can discuss your treatment goals and ensure we’re on the same page.

They’ll take note of where your cellulite indentations appear while you stand and sit in various positions, marking them with a nonpermanent skin marker. To keep you safe, we’ll prep your skin with a sterile solution, then use a small needle to place injections in each dimple.

What Is Recovery Like?

In most cases, you’ll be able to return to your daily routine almost immediately. You may experience mild swelling, redness or discoloration, itchiness, tenderness and bruising, but these should go away within a couple of days and lessen with subsequent treatments. You’ll see the best results with a series of treatments rather than a one-off appointment, as it takes a while for the septae to dissipate. Serial treatments are usually done once every three weeks until you reach your desired results.

Although QWO cellulite treatments are entirely safe for skin of color, clinical trials showed that darker skin tones are slightly more likely to develop hyperpigmentation as a side effect. Whatever your skin tone, treatment and recovery will go better if you avoid medications, foods and supplements known to cause blood thinning.

After treatment, your results should last at least six months. However, because QWO dissolves the cellulite bands, there is evidence that the results can be much longer-lasting than the time studied.
