Butt Injections vs. Butt Implants
Let’s be real — most people want a bigger butt. Enhancing your curves can draw attention wherever you go and make you feel like your best self. If you’ve been researching ways to improve your booty’s appearance, you’ve likely come across butt implants and butt injections. But what’s the difference, and which one will give you a better result?
What Are Butt Injections?
Butt injections come in a few different forms:
Brazillian Butt Lift
The Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) involves taking fat from your body and moving it to the buttocks region, slimming you down in some areas while boosting your booty. It’s a mix of fat grafting and liposuction.
BBLs are the preferred treatment for patients unhappy with their bottom’s natural appearance. Because the fat is coming from your body, there is a lower risk of rejection. Since it’s a series of injections, your provider can place the fat wherever you need it, meaning your provider will specially sculpt your booty for your body type.
Silicone and Artificial Fillers
Silicone and other liquid fillers are injected between layers of muscle to plump your booty. The Food and Drug Administration does not approve silicone injections for large-scale augmentation. There are other naturally occurring, FDA-approved dermal fillers that you can use for stunning results. Working with licensed and trusted providers ensures a safe procedure.
How Do Butt Implants Work?
Like breast augmentation, your provider will insert silicone implants into your buttocks. Typically, these implants rest in the upper glutes, meaning that there’s little to no change to the hips or lower half of the buttocks. Many people looking find that implants are not comprehensive enough to get the butt they want.
Which Should I Choose?
In most cases, most doctors will recommend the BBL before considering implants. Because BBLs use all-natural material, they provide significant benefits over silicone implants, including:
- Lower risk of infection, rejection or the implant moving into the wrong position
- More control over where the fat moves for a better result
- Slimming in areas where the fat is removed
- Smoother recovery and overall experience
Sometimes, a patient may not have sufficient fat reserves to draw from for a BBL. This is one of the few cases where a butt implant would be the better option. However, even thin women often have enough fat in the lower back and flanks to create a stunning BBL result. Taking from these areas ensures an even larger ratio between the hips and the booty for a more pronounced look.
